I think it's about time we can start putting our music guys to work. The themes are there with some strong characters, so how about some character themes? Also, you guys - Sargas and Blue - have been pretty quiet (ha) here, so I think it'd be a good idea to say hello and link some of your favourite stuff from your portfolio.
Given that the most thematic work has been done on horror, that's the main place we have workable music targets right now, but if you have something you think would apply to another theme somehow I'd love to hear it. Specifically though, what I'm looking forward to is themes for the Pumpkin Witch, the four sisters, Pumpkinhead, the good wizard, and a map theme for the witch's pumpkin patch and the lords' castle. No need to do it all, those are just ideas. Have fun with it, there's no solid deadline here.

I'm going to listen to these while I work for a while then give you my opinion once I'm better versed.

Got a good tune going. It's a 28 second tune with three different styles that can be combined for a different mood and intensity The MIDI file plays the three styles once, then plays them all in unison Attachments:FP2 Creepy.mid (51.97 KB)

They blend together nicely. I had to listen to it a few times to get a feel for each, but I'm definitely enjoying it now. Good work, keep it up.

I think it sounds great. I would love to hear the first two elements combined on their own. Would the third track come in as a refrain or would it play continuously?

The plan is to have them shift, flow, and blend frequently... the only quick answer I can give you is yes. I don't know the words to use, but ideally the structure would be similar throughout each differently mooded track so they can be transferred and overlaid easily.

Update to the Main Theme FP2 Creepy.mid (76.76 KB) Made a battle-ish track. It follows the same basic melody as the previous track Reminder: These are only drafts in MIDI format. When it is certain which tracks will be used and that they are fully written I will make full mp3s Attachments:FP Battle.mid (39.98 KB)

The battle theme sounds like a good starting point for Pumpkinhead's theme to me. Any other ideas where to put it?
I'm divided on the updated faction theme... while I like the more elaborate sections more, they don't blend together as well now.

The battle theme sounds like a good starting point for Pumpkinhead's theme to me. Any other ideas where to put it? Your guess is better than mine. In order to know how well a track will work for an environment, I'll need to know the environment it's playing in, and what's happening when it's playing. I don't see how. I only added a new section I can't find anything in the board on what songs will be playing when, so thus far I'm kind of just guestimating

Oh, really? That's odd, the tracks sound a little more layered to me. I compared it to the old one, though not side by side. I noticed the transitional sections, which I like.
Once I'm done with what's on my plate now, my next big task will be defining the factions. That should help you with these tracks.

disco had a really good idea regarding maps. We've got so many classes now, each of them a recognizable monster, some with sketches done. Enough that if we had a map for each, we would have about the same number of maps as FP. For now, let's go with building themes for each class. I'll get to work thinking about what sort of places each class would live in.
